Aritzia Haul

Not feeling well so I'm just going to post some stuff I bought recently for my trip to Mexico next month. I'm excited but all I can utter is a lacklustre "yay."

Ebay ♥ Gypsy Kimono

One of the trends I've been noticing on vintage Ebay vendors' sites are silk, burn-out velvet gypsy kimonos. I don't know where this started but I'm in love with these bohemian style kimonos and wraps. They're casual enough to wear over a tee and jeans but because of the detailing of the burn-out velvet and the beading, they're very dressy and fancy and can be worn with solid-coloured dresses.

Unfortunately, when the majority of these auctions were listed, I had no way of saving the photos and posting them up so they've all been sold but there are still some available. I just wanted you to see the wonders of these things and also get you familiarized with the going-rate (they don't come cheap!_

Check these out and tell me they're not gorgeous!

And if you're looking for a more cost-friendly way to get the same look, try looking up scarves or table coverings. I found this shawl/table covering from ranch-man and although it's not the exact same style as the vintage apparel, it still has the lovely peacock design that is so quintessential to the gypsy kimono. And this only went for $41.65!!!!

These are truly sensational pieces to have in any wardrobe and I'm sure they'll turn heads. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

Aritzia Spring 2011

I started my work at Aritzia on Monday and I wanted to celebrate my first day with a few pieces from the new Spring collections but alas, the fashion show hasn't streamed yet so I'm linking to another blog that got its hands on some key pieces for the new season.

Check out a few sneak-peeks from Style + Substance. Brittany's spring picks include a lot of slouchy, over-sized tops (who can ever have enough black t-shirts?), army and cargo detailing, and the colour blush. I'm loving them as well.

I feel that everything by Wilfred is always a must-have piece, whereupon everything in their collection somehow feels essential to my wardrobe. God knows I can't own everything. The colour palette doesn't look too different from Le Fou by Wilfred's Fall/Winter collection but I'm not going to jump the gun here. I'm eagerly awaiting Aritzia's fashion show on Facebook, streaming live on Sunday, January 13th @ 5pm EST/8pm PST. Remember to like Aritzia on Facebook and you'll be able to see the collections front-row from the comforts of your own living room!

Hopefully I can start taking my own photos at Aritzia once I get settled in.
