NYMag just posted a slideshow of 25 upcoming pilots for the 2011-12 season and I'm looking forward to a whole bunch of them (the usual police procedurals). One of these pilots titled Playboy stars Amber Heard and it looks cheeky albeit a little bit cheesy. Here's how NYMag describes it:
"Mad Men–era setting + premium-cable risqué content (the actors have nudity clauses in their contracts) + mainstream-appealing plot twists (murder by stiletto) = entertainment."
Since it's on network television (NBC), it doesn't have the opportunity to be nearly as smart and sexy as it could be. I have a feeling it will just be a lot of kitsch an glamour and not a lot of substance but I will tune in in the fall nonetheless. I love Amber Heard and want to see what she brings to her character.
And just look at how adorable she is in her bunny costume! She's as cute as a button!

Amber Heard for NYMag
So I haven't posted in about a week because I've been having some computer issues. Some time last weekend, my computer began making really bizarre noises every time I tilted it or moved it. It was an intermittent crackling sound; it kind of sounded like one of those wooden rain makers. Anyway, I took it to the shop and it turns out there was a problem with my hard drive so they replaced it with a brand-spanking new one.
I'll be dedicating the week to transferring all the miscellany I saved on my back-up drive to my new hard drive so I probably won't be posting anything for awhile. I'll leave you guys with a brief, little interview that Amber Heard did for NYMag a few days ago. It's really just more proof to add to the already sanctioned opinion that Amber Heard is one cool chick. I, for one, don't know much about vintage, American muscle cars but I imagine that knowing something about it lends a girl a little bit of credence.

Amber Heard for Details
Interview and photos of Amber Heard from the October 2009 issue of Details Magazine. The writer, Matthew Belloni, or perhaps the editor, attached this heading and byline to the article:
AMBER HEARD WANTS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS AN ACTRESS.
AND THE MUSTANG-DRIVING, PHILOSOPHER-QUOTING STARLET WON'T LET ANYTHING STOP HER.
This chick is just cool. I love that she reads Henry Miller, Ayn Rand, and Baruch Spinoza during her off-time. And that she owns a .357 Magnum. She's like a cleaner and less pretentious version of Sasha Grey. But actually awesome.
I just perused Miko Lim's portfolio and I don't know if I'm that impressed with his work. He seems to mostly do over-sexualized advertorial work (the spread for Details is pretty sexualized but it's an editorial) and sexy magazine covers. His photography features a lot of scantily clad women even though the women are supposed to be selling clothes. There are some editorials in there and some portraits from his personal work but I find the vantage points of his camera a little too commercial and blase for my tastes.

Tasya van Ree Part 1: Les femmes
So my girl crush continues...except now I suspect there's a bit of transference from Amber Heard onto her artist/photographer girlfriend, Tasya van Ree. This is honestly the hottest couple I've ever seen.
Amber's a gorgeous blonde sex kitten and Tasya is a totally hot, cool alternative chick. If lesbians could procreate, their children would be little stunners. The boys wouldn't stand a chance.
This post focuses on Tasya's photography on women. I don't know much about photography but I love the playful, voyeuristic aspect about them; it seems as if Tasya celebrates rather than denigrates the gaze. Nudes are meant to be gawked at an admired.
You'll also notice that several of the photos feature Amber in them.

Girl Crush ♥ Amber Heard
I'm crushing hard on Amber Heard these days, which works out for me since she's into girls as well.
Unfortunately for me (and my boyfriend), she's in a long term relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree - more on her later).
Heard, whom I remember as Lila Archer, the Hollywood starlet in the first season of Criminal Minds who crushes on Matthew Grey Gubler, and Jesse Eisenberg's neighbour-cum-love-interest-turned zombie, #406 in Zombieland, appears in the new movie, Drive Angry with Nicolas Cage, and also in an upcoming movie with Leighton Meester (my other current girl crush).
I think she's incredibly hot and I love that she's a lesbian and championer of gay rights. Read her interview with GLAAD here.
