Cyril and Vivian: I'm J, a writer and eternal pessimist. Welcome to my world of frou frou and frivolous fancies.

My point of view is inspired by two fictional characters, Cyril and Vivian, in Oscar Wilde's essay, The Decay of Lying. These two dandies discuss the nature of art and the art of artifice, and how beauty has to be created out of nothing or something.

This is a blog devoted to everything Wilde championed, to everything that is a lie and to every lie that speaks great, inimitable truths.
